IKE BEEZY BURNZ-
Born on a hot summer’s day in August, the passion for rhyming burned inside Reginald Mitchell, better known to the Carolina’s as Ike Beezy Burnz at an early age. The day of his birth, police pulled his father for doing 120 mph on the highway trying to rush his mother to the hospital. Fortunately, Law Enforcement assisted with getting them to the facility in an urgent manner. From that point, you can picture a fast paced life. Raised in Ruff Raleigh’s infamous Cross town sections, it wasn’t until he moved to North side of the Capital City, where he heard Gorilla’s in Da Mist by the lynch Mob and became addicted to America’s most lethal drug- Hip Hop. An Icon in high school, “hence” the name “Ike” he became known as one of Carolina’s best artist. He mastered the talent show scene with his energetic performances and lyricism with his Country City swagger. Performing at one particular talent showcase at the Ritz nightclub in Raleigh, he encountered his soon to be right hand Shyst. At this point, where real recognized real, they became one of the deadliest combinations in and outside of the independent hip hop movement, showcasing their country city swagger throughout the Carolina’s.
SHYST-
Born during the Crack epidemic in pain driven streets of Brooklyn N.Y, Kenneth Lewis better known as “Shyst” the hot tamale, became another product of his own environment. As a young boy, he grew up in Harlem N.Y until the age of 11, adapting a city attitude and style of a city boy. This foundation was planted inside of him. Spending numerous summers in the south with family, his parents soon decided to relocate and raise “Shyst” and his two brothers in Raleigh NC. Adjusting quickly as young teen, “Shyst” instantly became an item in the Carolina’s catalogue of music, money and authority. With his fast pace city mentality blending perfect with his over time developed southern twang and lifestyle, he witnessed himself create a new style of swagger a new sound and a new outlook on life. This style was called Country City. After connecting with his Raleigh Born partner “Ike Burnz” and linking with one of the south premier indie labels “Hazardous,” “Shyst” was put in a position to share and express this new swagger and sound of music and living the Country City life. Through “Ike & Shyst’s” music, they plan to reveal the emotions of the people. Not just the south or the north, but the entire country city movement and beyond!!!
